Ujjala
Sydney's winter arrives not with fury, but with a long, quiet exhale — cooler mornings, amber afternoons, the kind of light that makes soft colours come alive.
Ujjala (उज्जला) is our first collection, and it begins here: with kora linen — raw, unbleached, barely touched — in the gentlest pastel shades. Pista green. Blush. Harbour mist. Colours that don't demand attention, but always receive it.
Each saree in this collection is hand-adorned with traditional Indian artwork — Pichwai motifs, sacred florals, centuries-old craft forms brought into quiet, everyday wear. This is not fast fashion. These are pieces made slowly, with intention.
Curated with The Saree Shop
Every Ujjala saree is hand-selected in partnership with The Saree Shop, our brand partner and trusted curators of authentic Indian weaves and art textiles. Their eye for craftsmanship and our understanding of the Australian Indian woman's life — that is what this collection is built on.
Made for your Sydney winter
Linen breathes beautifully at 14°C. Layer an Ujjala saree with a fine merino shawl, or drape a camel coat over. Wear it to a winter puja, a Sunday brunch in Newtown, or a quiet evening at home when the light turns golden at four o'clock.
This is Bazaarly's first collection. We hope it feels like the beginning of something.
